Floaters work 3.5 to 4.5 hours per day between the hours of 9:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. at varying locations.  Floaters are given first preference for a spot at one location when jobs become available. 

 

Ideal candidates are able to, at a minimum, read and write English, do simple arithmetic, and follow oral and written instructions. They must have a general understanding and appreciation for food safety and must be customer service oriented.  Work in the school kitchens is fast paced and physical.  The job requires employees to be standing or walking the entire work shift.  Work requires twisting, pushing, and pulling, with regular lifting of 10-20 lbs. and occasional lifting of up to 40 lbs.  

 

The starting rate of pay is $16.75 per hour.
